Similar media texts audience research

Signs

The first short that we actually have chosen for analysis was the short film "Signs". After completing the analysis of the short film "Signs", now the next step is to complete some similar media texts audience research. To find out which gender's watch the short film, the location where the short film is popular, and the age groups that enjoy watching the short film, we looked at the video/film distribution webiste YouTube. The short film "Signs", has been watched many people around the world but it is most popular in Mongolia, Russia and Singapore. The short film "Signs" is most popular with the male gender which is shown by the top demographics of the short film. The top demographics also show us the age groups that have watch the short film "Signs" the most, in this case males aged between 18-24 years old, male between the ages of 25-34 years old and finally males between the age of 35-44 years old. So basicaly it is popular between the ages of 18-44.

Reminiscence

The next short film that we have done audience research for is the short film "Reminiscence". We also used the video/film distributition site YouTube to aid us in our audience research. The top locations where people have watched this short film the most has been in the United States, Costa Rica and Austrailia. This tells us that people in these countires have enjoy watching this short film and that is why it is so popular in those countries. The short film "Reminiscene" is popular in both genders, but it is more popular with the male gender rather than the female gender, this also links in yet again with the top demographic which helps to show the ages of people who have watch the short film the most. The short film "Reminiscence", is popular with females between the ages of 45-54 years old, it is also popular with males between the ages of 18-24 years old, and it is also popular with males between the ages of 35-44 years old.

Thirst

Another short film that we have done audience research on is the short film "Thirst". To help us in our development in our target audience research we used the video/film distributing website YouTube, to help us to gain an idea of which gender of people enjoy watching the short film. Where in the world the short film is being watched and what age groups enjoy watching the short film. The short film "Thirst" is popular in India, Sri Lanka and Lithuania. Using the top demogrpahics of the video available to us on YouTube we have found out that the short film "Thirst" is most popular with the male gender, this might be because of the fact that the main character is a male and the story follows his life. Using the top demographic we can also find the ages of people who have watched the short film. For example the short film "Thirst" is popular with males between the ages of 25-34 years old, also with men between the ages of 35-44 and also with men between the ages of 45-54 years old.

The Plan

"The Plan" is another short film that we have used to do our target audience research on. We have also used YouTube to help us understand which gender of people have watched this short film the most. Where in the world the short film is popular in, and also the ages of people that are watching the short film. In this case the short film "The Plan" is being mostly watched in three main countries, these are the United Kingdom, the United States and India. The short film "The Plan" is mainly popular with the male gender but is also popular with the female gender as well. There is a major difference in the age of people that are watching this short film. There is a much younger female audience watching this short film that is compared to a much older male audience. The female audience that is watching the short film is aged between 13-17 years old which is the younger audience, on the other hand the male audience is aged between 35-44 years old and between the ages of 45-54 years old which is the much older male audience.

Education for Leisure

"Education for Leisure" was the fifth short film that we looked at the target audience research. Once again we used the video/film distribution webiste YouTube to help us to gain greater knowledge in the targeted audience for the short film "Education for Leisure". The short film "Education for Leisure" is mainly popular in three main countires, these countires are the United Kingdom, India and Nepal. The short film "Education for Leisure" is mainly popular with the male gender but it is also popular with the female gender as well. Compared to the other short films that we have used to complete target audience research this short film has a much younger audience than any other of the short films that we have used for target audience. The females who have watched this short film the most have been ages between 13-17 years old. It is popular with males between the ages of 18-24 years old and it is also popular with men between the ages of 25-34 years old.

Memories

Another short film that we have used for target audience research is the short film called "Memories". We also have used the video/film distribution webiste YouTube to help us to gain a greater knowledge in the audience of the short film "Memories". The short film "Memories" is mainly popular in three different countries, these countries are yet again the United Kingdom, the United States and India. The short film "Memories" is mainly watched by the male gender but it is also popular with the female gender as well. This also compared to the other short film has an yonger audience. The short film "Memories" is most poular with females between the ages of 13-17 years old, the short film is also popular with men between the ages of 18-24 years old and is also popular with men between the ages of 25-34 years old. This is still a younger audience compare to some of the short films like "Thirst" and "The Plan".
