Poster draft designs

This is one of the designs that we have created for our poster that we have to create for our media coursework. When looking through film posters for our researach we liked the posters that were simple and basic but still where very effective, so in our design we made our posters basic but still effective, in this design we will have the faces of the two main characters, but having one slightly further back than the other. This will be located in the middle of the poster. The masthead will be located at the top of the poster, the masthead is most likely to be written in a bold font to make it stand out from the rest of the poster. Under the masthead will be the main names of people who are in the film and who made the film. There will other features that you find on other film posters like the age rating, details about comapnys involved (small print at the bottom of the poster).

This is another draft design that we have created for our short film poster that we will be creating as part of our media coursework. instead of just having the faces of the character like in the other poster design. We will have the whole body of the character on the poster. This will be located on both sides of the poster and will be the main focus. The masthead will be located yet again at the top of the poster and will be written in a bold font which will make it stand out from the rest of the text on the poster. There will be lots of other common features of a movie poster on our design such as the names of the people who are in the film and who have made the film, age rating, webiste address and text at the bottom of the poster which will contain text on the comapnies involded and other details like that, we want our design to be just like a proffesional film poster and have all the details on it which a normal film poster would have.

When creating our short film poster, we will either choose one of the designs that we have created, or we will combine aspects of both designs, as both designs are very similiar all we would be doing is just changing the main image that will be located on the poster.

Double page spread drafts

This is one of our designs for the double page spread that will create as part of our coursework. The main image will be located at the top of the page and it will span across both pages. The text will be written in columns on both pages, the text will be on the bottom half of the double page spread. There is also a section down the side of the right hand page of the double page spread which can be used for text purposes which could cointain information on the actors in the short film or even just details on the short film that we are making.

This is another double page spread design that we have created as part of our media coursework. The main image on the double page spread will be located at the top of the left hand page of the double page spread, the masthead will be written on the main image, to make it more effective and similiar to the way that Empire magazine lay out there double page spread designs. The text will be written on columns on both pages of the double page spread. The will also be a second image that will be located at the top of the righ hand side page, this will help to break the text up and give some information on the short film, there is also going to be smaller images at the bottom of the screen which will cointain stills from the film.

We both like the designs that we have created for the double page spread, we might either choose to use one of the designs or will might combine the designs that we have created.

Molly- Oh Hello Mr. Howard, no she didn’t, I just saw her in town though, if you were looking for her.

Shots of the levels of the shopping centre, shots of him looking around. He goes up and down the levels on the escalator. He stops suddenly as he is Becky across, on the other side of the shopping centre; with a boy he’s never seen before. Becky and the mysterious boy and Mark follows them; when he realises they are heading for the station. They cross a road but he misses the crossing and loses sight of them, he runs to the station onto the platform.

The boy gets on the train and looks at Becky.

Boy- Well? Are you getting on?

(She looks down, unsure)

Boy- Becky! Just get on!

(She looks at him.)

Mark panics as the train moves away, tears come to his eyes as he sees Becky standing on the platform opposite. They meet each other on the bridge, Mark running, Becky rushing. The stop in front of each other and pause for a moment before hugging.

Animated Storyboard

This is our animated story board that we have created, we started by drawing out our stroyboarad, we then took pictures of the storyboard and put the images into final cut, we used final cut to put the pictures together to make the animated storyboard. It also shows our rough ideas on shots that we will use, the description of the shot and how long the shot will roughly last.
